HAMPSHIRE police are investigating after a bus driver was hit by curry thrown from a moving car.

A police spokesman said the 50-year-old woman driver was “covered" in sauce and so were the vehicle's controls during the incident on the Isle of Wight.

Thirty passengers were on board the Southern Vectis bus which was travelling along Great Preston Road in Ryde at the time.

PC Al Spence said whoever threw the curry was in a red car.

He said: "The actions of someone in this vehicle were reckless and could have led to a road traffic collision because of the shock and distraction it caused to the bus driver."

No-one was injured in the incident.

Anyone who saw what happened on the bus shortly before 12pm on 16 October should contact police on 101.
