Watch and gym bag belonging to Royal Marine among burglar's haul in Totton

A RARE Breitling watch worth more than £2,000 has been stolen in a Hampshire burglary.

The watch, a Royal Marines special edition with the words “Royal Marines Commando” on the back, was taken from a house in Rumbridge Street, Totton.

Jewellery, bank cards, an Acer laptop and cash from a children's money box was also stolen.

Police believe the property could have been removed in pillow cases and a distinctive black and bottle green gym bag with the words “Royal Marines” on the side.

The raid occurred on Monday sometime between 8am and 7.15pm while the victim - who spent six years in the Marines - was out at work.

Detective Constable Anne Attwell said: “We are especially interested in hearing from anyone who saw strangers in the area between 5.30pm and 7.15pm, particularly if they saw anyone with a Royal Marines gym bag.”

Ring Det Con Attwell at Lyndhurst CID or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
