MORE than 12,000 single parent families live in Southampton, new statistics reveal.
The charity Gingerbread released the figures as it launches a national campaign called Make it Work to get more single parents into work.
The organisation claims the Government and employers across the county are failing single parents by not taking steps, such as offering affordable childcare and flexible jobs, to encourage single parents to work.
