HUNDREDS of people lined the streets to watch this year’s Titchfield Carnival.
The long-term annual event saw a variety of different groups parade round the village in two processions in the afternoon and evening yesterday.
Groups included Scouts, majorettes and dancers, some on floats and some walking, all alongside many marching bands, which provided musical accompaniment.
The Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee provided the inspiration for many of those taking part and there were some weird and wonderful costumes.
Titchfield Carnival is organised by the Titchfield Bonfire Boys Society and a collection on the day goes towards fundng next year’s event and the society’s charity work in the community.
Councillor Tiffany Harper, who was watching the first procession, said: “It was a fantastic atmosphere – it’s always good and I have been going for 35 years."
