Images have been released after a man had his jaw broken twice in an unprovoked attack.

Detectives investigating the assault say they want to speak to the man and two women in the CCTV pictures because they could hold vital information.

The 22-year-old victim was walking home from celebrating his birthday in Eastleigh when the attack happened.

He had heard shouting coming from the subway slope under Romsey Road and went with his friends to find out what was happening.

When they got there, they only saw a man and two women who walked past them - but when he turned to carry on going home he was hit and knocked to the ground.

The victim was then attacked for a second time in the attack, which happened at around 2.30am on Sunday, July 8, but details have just been released.

Anyone who can identify people in the pictures should contact PC Donna Kay at Eastleigh CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
