ARSONISTS and a malicious caller led to firefighters in Southampton dashing to three call outs in just over an hour.

A suspected stolen motorbike was found in flames in the Aldermoor area of the city at about midnight on Lewis Silkin Way.

One hour later crews from Redbridge fire station were called to the tower block Shirley Towers to a van fire. Police alerted the service after a call from a member of the public.

But when firefighters got to the scene just after 1am, there was nothing there.

Minutes later at 1.30am they were called to a skip blaze at the bottom of Foundry Lane. Two crews battled the fire which was caused by arsonists.

Anyone with information about the incidents should contact Hampshire police on 101.

If I had information that would assist the plebs with this I would dial 08450454545, that call is free on my phone contract whereas 101 costs at least 10p on my home phone and silly money on my mobile. If the head plebs are serious about wanting crime reported they will give us a free number to ring but deterring us from calling helps keep the crime stats down. Wonder what the real figures are.
