DETECTIVES want to speak to three people caught on CCTV in connection with a serious assault in Eastleigh.

A 22-year-old man, who had been celebrating his birthday, had his jaw broken twice in the unprovoked attack.

He had been walking home with friends when he heard shouting coming from the subway under Romsey Road.

When they went to see what was happening they came across a man and two women who walked past them.

But as they turned to continue home the victim was punched and knocked to the ground.

Helped by his friends he continued walking home but came across the trio from the subway again at the junction of Twyford Road and The Crescent and was punched again.

He had to have surgery after the attack, which happened at around 2.30am on Sunday, July 8.
