Changes have been made to parking in Fareham to boost trade.
People can now park at Market Quay, Fareham Shopping Centre and Osborn Road multi-storey all day. There was previously a £25 fine for parking for more than five hours.
Fareham Borough Council’s environment boss, Councillor Keith Evans, said: “I’m really pleased we have been able to support local traders and businesses by removing this penalty charge. This will help to maintain and extend the prosperity of the town centre.”
The council says it has made the changes after a consultation and to maintain the vibrancy of the town centre.
