WOMEN made a move in the right direction for a Hampshire children’s hospice with a four-hour Zumbathon.

More than 70 women danced to music for five hours as they stepped in every direction and strutted their stuff at the Oceana club in Southampton for Naomi House children’s hospice near Winchester.

The event was organised by the hospice’s community fundraiser Yvonne Campbell who also took part.

During the day they managed to raise £1,200 and performed a grand finale to showcase their new skills and routines.

It was a great event and really fun but would not have been as good without the logistical and organisational skills of Debbie Gray & Sam Horne who's idea it originally was and who also worked really hard in the weeks prior to the event, sourcing music, routines, other Zumba instructors and participants to make this event possible and as successful as it was !

Debbie and I spent months putting together the timetable, meetings with other instructors and co-ordinating the whole structure of the event. Which ran like clockwork. So the instructors were myself (Samantha Horne) with Debbie Gray, Caro Brant, Jamie Rutter, Helen Robins & Bonita Drake. With our personal thanks to all of those who attended and made it a fantastic afternoon.
