A convicted rapist on the run in Hampshire has been recaptured, police said today.

Officers had urged the public not to approach Leon Douglas who had gone missing from his home in Fareham where he had been under a curfew.

Police said he was arrested at 11.30am today after he reported to Portsmouth Central Police Station.

The 41-year-old had been missing since August.
