Waste goes to add Sparkle

First published in

ROTTING mattresses and festering fridges were among the items removed from an area in Romsey thanks to a council clean-up.

Test Valley Borough Council’s environmental services team took on the job at land near Viney Avenue in its latest ‘Sparkle Day’, part of its ‘Love Where You Live’ litter campaign.

Workers cleared 5.5 tonnes of waste in total, including 30 fly-tipped tyres, following complaints from residents about neighbouring land being used as a waste dump.
