MURDER squad detectives from Southampton have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed to death in a Hampshire town.
Scenes of crime investigators sealed off part of Whitworth Road in Gosport this morning after the man was found lying close to death in the street.
Paramedics were immediately called but the man, who has yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Forensics officers immediately cordoned off the area and began house to house enquiries in a bid to identify the man.
Detectives say that witnesses heard an argument shortly before the man's body was discovered at around 7am.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. They are helping police with their enquiries.
