CCTV images have been released of a man police want to speak to after an idecent assault in Southampton.

A 20-year-old woman was walking home alone after a night out in Southampton with friends, when she reached a pathway approaching the train station on the ‘Toys R Us’ side of the road.

She was approached by a white man in his 20s who is about 5ft 11ins tall. He wore a dark blue plain hoodie, with the hood up and covering his mouth. Only his eyes and nose could be seen.

This man grabbed her and indecently assaulted her. The woman ran to the taxi rank outside the train station and got into a taxi.

Officers investigating are now releasing a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to about the incident, which happened around 1.40am on Thursday, September 27.

They would like to speak to the man about what happened so that if necessary he can be eliminated from their enquiries. They know he got off a train that started in London and arrived at 1.11am at Southampton Central Train Station.

They are asking anyone who recognises who the man is or the man himself to contact them.

They are asked to call Detective Constable David Wheeler at Bitterne Police Station on 101.
