A TEENAGER broke his hand as he was knocked over in a hit and run incident.

The youngster was with his girlfriend walking across Boyatt Wood shopping area car park at around 8pm on Wednesday.

A white VW van turned in from Shakespeare Road and collided with the couple, causing the boy to fall over.

The driver then went into a local shop before driving off.

The girl was left with minor injuries.
