Dementia complex brings 60 new jobs

A NEW £7m complex for
dementia sufferers has created
more than 60 jobs.
Hampshire-based Sentinel Health
Care has opened a 60-bed home in
Fordingbridge to help cater for the
growing number of elderly people in
the district.
The purpose-built centre has been
designed with the help of Sterling
University, home to experts in the field
of dementia care.
Built over three floors Fordingbridge
Care Home has a lounge, dining room
and activity rooms with daily entertainment.
A Sentinel Health Care spokesman
said: “The home brings not only superb
facilities and care to elderly residents
but new job opportunities to the area.
“The expertise and reputation held by
Sterling University at the forefront of
dementia care made them a perfect
partner in this development.”
Funding for the scheme was provided
by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
Christopher Mann, RBS’s relationship
director, said: “The team at
Sentinel Health Care have a wealth of
experience in the care industry and
impressed us with their plans to construct
this new 60-bed care home.
“They researched the market place to
ensure the location was right for a
home that promises to provide a comfortable
and stimulating environment
for residents.
“The new job creation is a welcome
boost to the local economy and demonstrates
our continued commitment to
help local businesses achieve their
ambitions.”
