HAPPY graduates celebrated the end of their studies as they picked up their hard-earned degrees from Southampton Solent University.
The first of nearly 2,600 students formally graduated at ceremonies at Southampton Guildhall yesterday after completing courses in technology, fashion and communications and writing.
American anthropologist, writer and photographer Ted Polhemus received an honorary degree from the university in recognition of his service to the fashion industry.
He is one of ten figures receiving honours from Solent at the ceremonies running all week, including Meridian Tonight host and Daily Echo columnist Fred Dinenage, who was due to get his honorary doctorate today.
