WINCHESTER’S MP Steve Brine says there’s overwhelming opposition to the Boundary Commission’s plans to move Alresford, Old Alresford, Bighton and Gundleton into a new North East Hampshire and Alton constituency.
Speaking after a street surgery at the junction of Broad Street and West Street with city councillor Ernie Jeffs and town councillor Lisa Griffiths, Mr Brine, pictured, said: “We had so many people stopping to chat and everyone wanted to say how much they disagree with the proposals to sever Alresford from the Winchester constituency at the next election.”
The deadline for the public consultation is December 10.
