On the ball again in tribute to Danny
2:40pm Tuesday 20th November 2012 in News
IT was a fitting footballing tribute to a popular Southampton man.
Four football teams took part in a tournament in honour of Danny Devereux, 24, pictured left, who committed suicide four years ago. His body was found by caretakers at the Oasis Academy School in Lordshill, where he worked part-time.
Since his death every year on his birthday two teams, Bush Hill and Questmap along with friends and family, organise a mini-football tournament to raise money for charity. This year four teams laced-up their boots for the special occasion.
In the past three years they have rais-ed more than £2,000 for Southampton charities and this year they hope to raise more than £1,000 for Southampton General Hospital and brain tumour charity Headsmart.
Danny was a key player for Bush Hill and many of the Questmap players are also ex-Bush Hill members.
The tournament was won by Questmap, who beat Bush Hill 5-3 in the final.
