A TERRIFIED elderly couple were bound and gagged by masked burglars during a raid on their Hampshire home.

The couple, who are aged in their 70s, were watching television in their bedroom at their home in Wellow Drove, Wellow, when the burglars struck.

They told police they heard two loud bangs, before three people dressed in dark clothing and masks burst into the room, at around 9.30pm on Thursday.

The offenders tied the couple up before scouring their home.

Detectives, who have not revealed what was taken from the property, have launched an investigation into the incident.

Anyone who was in the area between 9pm and 10.30pm who saw or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact Eastleigh police on 101, quoting Operation Randall.
