A FEMALE Hampshire cop has had her bail extended as police continue investigating her alleged corruption.

The 28-year-old from Southampton was one of two serving officers who were arrested amid claims they had carried out misconduct in a public office.

The officer, who has not been named, was also being quizzed on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class a drugs and perverting the course of justice.

She was due to answer bail today but has been told no decision will be made.

Police this morning confirmed the second officer, who is 29 and also serves in the city, had been told no further action would be taken against her as far as criminal proceedings were concerned. She is however back at work on directed duties while internal action is taken against both.

As reported by the Daily Echo, the pair were among six people arrested by police during dawn raids at properties in Southampton in October. They took place in Thornbury Avenue, Shirley, King Edward Avenue in Regents Park, Derby Road and Wyndham Court in the city centre.

Four men aged 22, 26, 28 and 32 were also held on suspicion of conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

They have been bailed until January 11.

The investigation has also been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Comission.
