Firefighters free elderly woman trapped in floods in Brockenhurst

Firefighters fought to rescue an elderly woman from her car after she became stranded in water in the New Forest.

The pensioner was trapped in the floods under Latchmoor Bridge, in Brockenhurst last night.

Fire and rescue crews from Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst rushed to the scene at around 7.20pm yesterday to free the woman from her vehicle.

Is that the bridge with a permanent sign warning against floods underneath? Why do people keep driving into deep floods and fords?

Yes it is, and all the locals know that the road floods under the bridge but can not be bothered to take the safe route via a 3 mile detour
