ALLOTMENT holders who complained at a public meeting in September about the way the Andover town council run allotments were administered have been promised an answer online in December.
Borough councillor Nigel Long, anxious that the grass didn’t grow under the council’s feet, said: “The letter people received in response did not answer any of the complaints and showed a total disregard for their views.
“This council has been incompetent in the way that they have handled this matter.”
Town council chairman David Drew, said: “We are going to put the questions and answers on the website so they have only a little longer to wait.
“To say there has been a total disregard is entirely inaccurate and wrong.”
He added that at the September meeting he had allowed the discussion about the allotment matters to carry on three times longer than the usual 15 minutes allocated for public questions.
The town clerk Wendy Coulter told the meeting that all questions would have a response on the website within two weeks (from 22 November).
