THE Great British weather has lived up to its reputation as rain swept the country.

And a Hampshire leisure centre has made its own rain-themed video.

The piece done to Singing in the Rain features customers and staff at Romsey Rapids.

It is designed to encourage people to take refuge from the horrific winter weather and get fit.

The video shows people swimming in the pool with umbrellas, coming down the flume in Romsey Rapids with an umbrella, and hiding under umbrellas as the water crashes out the tip-top bucket.

Words of the traditional Singing in the Rain song have also been changed to encourage people to ‘get healthy again’.

Valley Leisure, which runs Romsey Rapids, said the video takes a fun look at the leisure centre and the things people can do to feel better over the winter months and marks a change in emphasis for its fitness teams to a more holistic approach towards fitness and wellbeing.

“Our customers and staff did a brilliant job,” said Gillian Hughes, communications development manager for Valley Leisure.
