Councillors blasted for not pulling their weight

A FORMER town councillor has criticised the attendance of some of the authority’s current members.

Robin Atkins, now chairman of the Alresford Town Trust, said: “What concerns me is that one and half years into their term there are certain councillors who are finding it difficult to pull their weight for whatever reason.”

The meeting heard that one councillor, Paul Waterworth, has resigned after increased work commitments.

Another councillor and former chairman, Steve Middleton, has moved to Hayling Island and was not at the meeting.
