POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man suspected of theft and fraudulent use of a bank card in Winchester.

A man approached an 82-year-old woman at Tesco in Easton Lane between 11.15am and 11.30am on Friday, November 16.

He told her she had dropped a £10 note and put his hand into her bag to help her look but once she returned home she found her bank card had been stolen and used to withdraw money from her account.

Anyone with information should contact PC Clarke at Winchester Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Good picture.......... Not! Could be anyone. Apparently this scam was being worked in Southampton last week.

Just clocked on that what evers on the Hampshire Police website is purely cut and pasted onto the Echo website 24hrs later.

Considering theres no journalistic investigation time required, why the delay ?
