TWO people were pronounced dead at the scene of a horrific Christmas morning crash in Hampshire.

They were passengers in a car which was involved in a collision on the B3349 Odiham Road near Basingstoke.

The driver was treated at the scene and taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police say a member of the public reported the crash at about 10.05am.

Next of kin has been notified but police say they are not in the position to identify the dead passengers until all formal identification procedures have been carried out.

The B3011 and the B3349 will be shut until later this afternoon while an investigation is carried out.
