Fire destroys garage
FIRE crews have battled a blaze that left a garage totally destroyed.
Firefighters were called to the garage on fire next to a property in Branches Lane, Sherfield English, near Romsey yesterday at 1am.
The garage, made of brick with a timber frame, was used for storage.
Two crews from Romsey, one from Redbridge and another from St Mary's as well as a water carrier from Eastleigh attended and used a main hose, a Compressed Air Foam System jet and 20 breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service carried out an investigation but the fire was not considered suspicious.
