Police are hunting a motorist who leapt out of his car and punched a 17-year-old pedestrian in the face.
The victim suffered a black eye in the unprovoked assault, which occurred in Long Lane, Holbury, as he walked towards the Gang Warily area.
A police spokesman said: “When he was about 250 metres from the traffic lights at Rollestone Road a red or burgundy Renault MPV stopped next to him.
“The driver got out, shouted at him and punched him in the eye. The victim ran off.”
The motorist is described as white, aged 28-30, about 5ft 10in and of stocky build. He had two or three days of stubble and was wearing a red T-shirt, a grey fleece and jeans.
It happened last Friday between 8.40pm and 9.30pm. Call PC Jonathan Kennett at Hythe police station on 101.
