YOUNGSTERS battling heart defects celebrated a donation that will help ensure they get the support and care they need when stuck in hospital.
The Families of Ocean Ward charity, set up to support parents and siblings of children born with heart defects treated at Southampton General Hospital, received the cheque worth £1,046.
The donation came from George Cook and his family.
As reported, the specialist heart unit was saved from the axe in July after the Echo’s Have a Heart campaign petition collected more than 250,000 signatures, but uncertainty hangs over Ocean Ward after the Government launched a review into the decision.
