From the description this doesn't appear to be where the accident occurred, but (out of interest - or not) I'm pretty sure the M271 is the only motorway in the country with a roundabout. Something to be proud of for sure.

Some cars need two drivers – an extra one to keep a look out.

Every Motorway junction in the country has a roundabout on it, how else do you get on and off?

You don't need a roundabout to get off a motorway... just entry/exit slip roads.

No it has an intersection, the roundabout does not appear in the middle of the motorway, absolute carnage, which is why Redbridge the only one in the country gets problems as cars come into it too quick.

What do you do? It depends on which motorway, which junction and where you're headed.

But, say northbound M3 Junction 13 at Chandlers Ford and I'm getting off the motorway, I'd normally stop at the end of the slip road as there are traffic lights there. Then, I'd either turn left or right onto Leigh Road.

You're trying to be a smartass, but you look a fool. Think before you post you muppet.

That's how it's done on part of the Hockley link junction of the M3 as well, the part I mean is the south bound exit and north bound entrance.

It's at the exit of the M271 not on it. but it does have a very nasty bend.
They should make the speed limit on this part of the road between 40 & 50mph max.
