Jobless Adam Pacitti from the Isle of Wight spends last £500 on billboard in bid for work

AN unemployed graduate from the Isle of Wight has spent his last £500 on a billboard aimed at finding him a job.

Adam Pacitti, of Ryde, said he acted out of desperation to find work.

The 24-year-old, who gained a first class degree in media production at the University of Winchester, hired the billboard to promote his website employadam.com.

The site features a tongue-in-cheek video in which Mr Pacitti promotes his marketing skills.

In the video, he says: ''As you can see from my email inbox I have spent countless hours applying for jobs with no luck which is why I have launched employadam.com.

''I am looking for work in the ultra-competitive, cut-throat and slightly vacuous industry that is the media.''

He continues: ''So if I seem like your ideal candidate then please get in touch because, to be honest, I am getting desperate.''

His website and billboard have become popular on Twitter and he has received thousands of messages of support.

Mr Pacitti gained previous success with an internet campaign to find a girl he dreamed of who bore an uncanny resemblance to TV character Ugly Betty.

His search gained attention worldwide after it was revealed by the Daily Echo.

Mr Pacitti claims his website thegirlofmydreams.co.uk has had more than four million hits.

I would have invested the cash in a hair cut, shave, new suit and new shirt.

10/10 for ingenuity however as he has made himself penniless does that mean he will claim benefits and sponge off those who work.

Good idea badly executed. The circus might provide a more rewarding opportunity.

What a shower some of you are .....
.
Just look at your comments, ........ invest in haircut, shave, suit, claim benefits now, circus more rewarding
.
I cant believe that some young guy uses his last few quid to try and do something positive to get a job with some prospects and all that most of you can do is ridicule him.
.
I wonder what you were like at 24 ..... thats if some of you have reached that age yet !!.
.
I say well done ........ just hope that his efforts and investment pays off ...

Nice idea but ultimately executed poorly. May well have a few IT skills but I can't see Ricky Gervais knocking on his door!

Agreed, The same people who probably slaughter the work shy and those who don't get off their Ar5es. Fair play to the lad and good luck to him

Good idea to get himself noticed but could of gone about it differently. Instead of spending the last of his money why not get a run of the mill job, there's plenty about not particulary great but a job none the less, and then concentrate on looking for the job he craves in the media industry. It would keep a bit of cash flow coming in.

Better to be employed and looking for work than unemployed and looking for work.

How is it poorly executed? It's clear, shows good knowledge of basic advertising, links to a website about employing himself, and most of all: Stands out.

He's also garnered media attention, the same field he wants to get into.

Well done for not just sinking into the system lad.
