Face of park sex attacker revealed
THIS is the face of a sex attacker who assaulted a woman as she walked alone through a Hampshire park.
Police have this afternoon released the computer-generated picture of the fiend who struck in the early hours of last Saturday, December 29.
The victim, aged 18, was walking home from a night out and took a route through East Park around 4am when she was approached by the man who started to talk to her.
He then sexually assaulted her before she managed to push him away, however he followed her to the Edge nightclub in St Mary's Road where she raised the alarm.
The man is described as white, in his 30s, 5ft 6ins tall and of average build. He has a round face and was bald and spoke English but with a foreign accent.
Detective Constable Victoria Boddy said “While this kind of incident remains relatively rare in our city, we would always advise people to avoid walking through dark or lonely areas on their own at night and stick to well lit pavements where there are other people around.
"I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or saw the man with the woman around 4am. I'd also like to hear from anyone who thinks they recognise the man from the efit or his description.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Boddy at Shirley CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Don't make me laugh! This is a regular occurrence in our parks. lets hope the authorities come up with a long term solution to these frequent attacks.

From that picture he could be any one of the large number of eastern Europeans in the city!.

As I have written before, I do not condone the attacker but neither should the victim have been walking through a park at 4.00 am in the morning.
And if the poor victim was going home after a night out, I suspect she was also dressed for clubbing which is even more reason not to walk alone.
Yes, there will those reading this that say she has the right to dress how she likes and walk where she likes, but we ALL have a responsibility for our own personal safety too.
Take a taxi, go with friends and NEVER walk through a park unaccompanied. If more people did this, then perhaps such attacks would become a rarity.

Well done for taking the step to report it as it can't have been an easy decision to relive such an horrible event. & hopefully they will catch him soon. :-)

Is DC Boddy new to Southampton? There have been regular attacks of this nature in the city during recent years.

Improve the lighting at night.
Night vision cctv
Get the clubs to finance a squad of guides to assist the routes...
there's any number of things that can be done to improve the safety of nightlife in the city, though don't hold you breath.
Let's hope the little scrot is identified and extinguished.

Cleanse the parks, too many undesirables lurking day and night.
