Boys and a girl robbed of mobile phones during attack in Southampton

FOUR teenagers were attacked and robbed of their mobile phones as they walked through a Southampton car park.
The three 16-year-old boys, who were with a 15-year-old girl, were followed down a city centre alleyway before being attacked by the gang of four or five youths.
One of the victims was wrestled to the ground and kicked in the stomach.
All three boys were robbed of their mobiles.
The youngsters had walked through the car park behind the Samaritans office on College Place and were making their way through the alleyway to Ordnance Road when the robbers struck, at about 8.30pm on Friday.
All the offenders are described as in their late teens and with dark skin, wearing dark tops with hoods up and dark trousers. They were between 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, and one was carrying an orange football.
Police are now appealing for help from anyone who witnessed the incident or may have seen the gang.
DC Dal Andrews said: “This occurred at a time when there were many members of the public in the area of Ordnance and London Roads. We need to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who went to the aid of the victims.”

And before anybody screams blue murder and assumes I'm being racist (or stereotyping), based on fact, there have been a staggering amount of attacks in the city centre either muggings or sexually motivated and they all seem to occur immediately nest to the St Mary's area, in the city centre or East Park and the attackers are almost all described as having dark skin. There obviously aren't enough police patrols around this area so something needs to be done.
If a group of four can't walk round the city centre, not even late into the evening then this city is becoming frightfully dangerous.

This is of course fine by me if they are hard-working and honest, or if they need a leg-up for a short time. But we really don't need anyone - regardless of country or race - who does not fit that description. We already have quite enough spongers and criminals - of all hues and origins home-grown and otherwise.

I must ask something though. Are you assuming that these perpetrators of this crime were not born here? They might not have been, but it seems that people are too quick to presume dark skinned perpetrators as immigrants. I am not suggesting that you are as I dont know you but I have begun noticing this everywhere and thought I would raise this point up.
