Police lanch arson hunt after cafe blaze
Police investigating a fire that caused extensive damage to Pier Café in Totland Bay on the Isle of Wight are appealing for more information.
The incident occurred around 10.30pm on January 3 when smoke was seen coming from inside the café.
Police and Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service attended the scene and initial enquiries indicate that it was a deliberate act which may be linked to a report of anti-social behaviour and damage to property in the same location shortly before the fire was discover.
If you have any information or witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of the crime please contact Police Sergeant Adam Henderson-Parish at Newport Police Station by phoning 101.
Mini-com users should contact 01962 875000.
Information can be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
