A BUSY Southampton road has been reopened following an accident in which a man was injured.

Lodge Road was reopened at 5.30pm after the collision involving a Hyundai and a motorbike which happened just after 4.30pm.

Emergency services attended the scene but the man, thought to be the rider of the bike, was not thought to have suffered serious injuries.

The incident caused extensive tailbacks which added to the congestion on nearby Thomas Lewis Way, which was the scene of an accident earlier in the afternoon which led to its closure.
