Do you know this man who threatened residents of Oslo Towers with a metal bar?

Police want to speak to this man following a raid at Oslo Towers Police want to speak to this man following a raid at Oslo Towers

This is the face of a man police want to question in connection with an aggravated burglary at a Southampton high-rise.

Detectives believe he is one of three men who forced their way into an address in Oslo Towers, in Weston, armed with a metal bar.

The men threatened residents with the weapon in the frightening ordeal, before raiding the flat.

Police said the would-be thieves left empty handed and confirmed that no-one was injured during the incident.

The men are described as white, aged in their 20s and were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered.

Detective Inspector Justin Norris, from Southampton CID, said: “This was a frightening incident for those involved and fortunately no-one was injured.

“We are releasing an image of one of the men we believe to be involved and we hope that someone may be able to tell us who this man is. Do you recognise him? If so, please contact us.

“Were you in the area of Oslo Towers on Saturday afternoon? Did you see or hear anything suspicious? I would also like to hear from anyone who was in International Way or at any of the nearby flats around this time who may have seen these men leaving or returning to a vehicle.

Anyone with information on the incident, which happened at around 3.30pm on Saturday, should contact Southampton CID, quoting Operation Starling, on 101.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Aren't these flats fitted with entrance security?
does the Echo mean they stood outside waiting for a resident & then threatened them to let them in?

How did he get into the block ? Is the door entry system not working ? Is there not a better picture from the CCTV cameras rather than the lift ?

All they had to do was wait for someone to be coming into the block or leaving it, though the main door has been faulty recently. By the way he looks like your typical youth from anywhere in the city not just Weston!

Even with out cuts do you think we could afford to have police stood at every entrance at flats?
Why don't the residents chip in & pay for security guards ?
100 residents chipping in £5 a week & you could get 2 security guards or is that down to the rest of us who have to pay to make our homes secure?

We already pay enough for the concierge system in the block, which as you see doesn't work as people just wait till someone walks in

So the concierge costs you does it ? exactly how much a week?
Maybe they could install a system where you can't access the lifts with out a card? how many of this type would use the stairs to say get to the top floor?
I( lived in a block of flats & sorry but besides the maintenance charge ( which is a lot more in private flats) I can't see where your paying for concierge?

We pay about 5 pound a week for it, I'm not sure exactly how much as I ring up and pay my rent week by week. We have to pay it just got a letter one say saying this is how much it is but has gone up since then.

So what happens if you say we don't want this no more we'd rather pay a couple of security guards?

i live in one of the tower blocks also in weston. and the secruity system is not really secure. anyone could walk in when someone gos out or comes in to the block. however the persons flat who got raided i know very well lives on the 5th floor :/ so they must no them tbh thats my point of view. in the matter because i am like why target that certain block on the 5th floor dont make sense to me. i agree we need more secruity on these tower blocks. esp when our main door is broken and stays open. !!
