THE trial of an alleged arsonist accused of starting three fires with intent to endanger life in a city centre is due to be held on June 24.

Sean Clements, 47, of no fixed address, is alleged to have started fires in Winchester at the Deanery, Phase Eight boutique and in the goods yard off Upper Brook Street. He is also charged with arson of rubbish bins near the Buttercross.

Clements is also charged with three offences of threatening behaviour and one assault. He was remanded in custody to return to Winchester Crown Court on March 26.
