Business is booming for Southampton courier firm
A SMALL online courier service based in Hampshire hopes to expand its international operation after a three-fold increase in turnover.
Despite the tough economic climate Southampton firm Parcel Monkey has seen its turnover rise from over £2m in 2011 to £6m in 2012.
And the firm, based at the Regus Centre in George Curl Way, off Wide Lane, is expecting to see demand increase again this year.
Already operating in India, Germany and USA, it plans to expand its service abroad for the long-term.
Since the firm was relaunched in 2009, Parcel Monkey has seen its turnover double year on year.
Managing director Nav Ramiah said: “It has undoubtedly been an incredibly tough market for everyone over the last few years.
“But here at Parcel Monkey, our commitment to working hard and going beyond what is required has really helped to set us apart from competitors.
“We’re very excited about the future and are putting into place opportunities which will ensure that we continue to grow. Next year we’re also keen to invest in an online retail business, which is an easy win for us as it will be supported by Parcel Monkey.
“Our international plans could also see us grow very quickly and replicate our success in a number of countries – so there’s still plenty to look forward to and work towards.”
Last year Parcel Monkey won the People’s Choice award and the Business category at the Website of the Year Awards 2012 organised by The Good Web Guide.
