TWO men have been arrested in connection with three robberies that have taken place over the past month.

A spokesman said today that a 37-year-old man from Bournemouth and a 49-year-old man of no fixed abode were being questioned.

The arrests relate to robberies at Highcliffe Post Office on December 18, the Co-Op in Cranleigh Road, Southbourne, last Saturday night, and the Mace store at Saulflands shops in Highcliffe on Sunday evening.

As reported previously, police were considering the possibility that these robberies may have been connected to a series of gunpoint robberies in the New Forest.

Police said they were determining whether the three Dorset raids were linked, as well as looking into potential links with the New Forest robberies.

Witnesses should call Dorset police on 101.
