Duo jailed for roles in drug-fuelled shooting in Townhill Park in Southampton
5:44pm Monday 21st January 2013 in News
By Bethan Phillips, Reporter
Two men have been jailed for 13 years for taking part in a drug-fuelled shooting in Southampton.
Calvin Lawrence, 26, and Malachi Francis, 27, were handed the sentence this afternoon at Southampton Crown Court.
The self-confessed drug dealers, who are both from London, had been convicted of being behind a late-night shooting in the Townhill Park area of the city, when a man was blasted in the leg on the evening of February 19 last year.
The court had heard that Suraj Singh Bhakar was injured after visiting a flat in Vanguard Road.
He was left needing surgery for four leg wounds.
Lawrence and Francis both denied being involved in the shooting but were found guilty last year of wounding with intent and possessing a handgun with intent to cause fear of violence The prosecution said the shooting had been premeditated, designed not to kill but cause serious harm.
Lawrence and Francis will both serve 13 years, with a further 5 years on licence for wounding with intent and 9 years concurrently for possessing a firearm.

i have read this article.... i also read the articles SINCE the shooting where the victim himself has CONFESSED to being concerned in the supply of drugs and is very well know for the supply of drugs.... if people want to mess around with drugs then they should expect to be either locked up or seriously hurt/killed. no sympathy for any of the men involved.

Forgetting to mention that a lot of these scro&tes are involved in dealing themselves. Ah there's nothing like a good bit of hypocrisy to warm the cockles of the heart.

As soon as these two were taken out of circulation, within hours another two would be briefed up to cover their manor. It's only when an incident like this surfaces that the stretched police get their chance to scratch the surface.
Suraj Bhakar aka Suzie deserved to be shot. Asif Khan was suppose to get shot too. Its all over drugs. Asif Khan was recently being investigated for drugs but he done a deal with the crown to get his charges dropped in return for him giving evidence against the guys above. Asif Khan and his brother Tariq Khan and Suraj Bakhar need to be locked up for a long time. The police know what dealing drugs openly but why aint they doing anything. We as a community should rise up and help the police get rid of the vermin like these guys off Southampton Streets......
The London boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham combined, where vermin like these two are from, are now breeding in their millions, and will , if not already , contain more criminality than in the Bronx.
It's also a known fact that the younger mules are sent down from the smoke on regular awayday tickets to the South Coast, but don't get off at the main stations to avoid the monitored CCTV, so alight at previous station on the line.

I was involved in this investigation, On the19th February 2012 Suraj singh Bhakar was shot twice by the 2 known drug dealers who came here with the intention of shooting mr bhakar and did and have been convicted by their peers of the community (jurors) on the evidence which was produced on the trial the verdict was a fair verdict , no deals were made through any prosecution witnesses this was a premeditated crime.Gun crime will not be tolerated by anyone in southampton we will put you away for a long time and throw away the keys and the same applies to the drug dealers. Since mr bhakar was shot an operation fortress team has been put together combined with London Manchester Birmingham and various other constabularys to put a stop to drug dealers who think they can come from other cities and think they can sell drugs in southampton since February 2012 we have arrested over 300 people involved with the concern and supply of class a, b, c, thanks to the members of the public whom we rely on also aswell as our investigation the message is clear to all of those who are actively involved in drugs or gun we will catch you.if you have any information an would like to let us know call 0845 045 45 45 or email us at southampton.gov/oper

I have the victim statement which I am going to print and have it deliver to addresses in Hampshire. It will prove to you all that he clearly stated that it was a white man that shot him, he repeated this three time. The police put that statement in the unused material because they know no jury would convict two black man if that was read out in court. What king of barrister did those two young man have to represent them? may be working for the police

The victim not colour blind you are a racist ****, where your brain should be is full of MAGGOTS. People like you only go by what the papers say. Your people and the victim are big time drugs dealers who deal for the police which is why they do everything to take the small dealers off the streets. Their families are tax payers so they are getting back some of their money what they pay for tax.

My family is make up of black and white which is why colour is not an issue with me, not all white or black people are bad. At lease 90% of Hampshire Police are racist. I myself hate liars because like these two young man liars and racist have put them behind bars for a crime they did not committed.
I take it you will be visiting the two "fitted up" scum bags in prison...? Send my regards won't you !
