Bus company reviews axed services
PEOPLE power has led a bus company to review and reinstate some Hampshire bus services.
Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage welcomed the news that First Hampshire bus company have decided to look at the changes it made to bus routes in Gosport and Fareham last year.
This comes after the MP met with Marc Reddy, First Hampshire's Commercial and Business Growth Director, in November.
She expressed residents' concerns and as a result First Hampshire promised to review their decision if enough people contacted them about the changes.
Among the most popular routes to be affected are the morning service to Bay House School, in Gosport, and the No. 11 service which will now travel via Elson and San Diego Road, Gosport.
The new timetable, which affects East Hampshire, will start from March 17.
She said: “It's great news for all the residents who wrote to First Hampshire expressing their concerns and refreshing that a big company like this has kept to their word, listened and acted.
“Although not all of the bus routes have been re-instated, it's clear that First Hampshire have taken onboard the concerns of my constituents - their loyal customers."

Renationalise the public transport network. Profit should not be the sole motivating factor for providing mobility to those that don't or can't drive.

There are a lot of people in the UK who receive annual bonuses in 6 figures. That's not their salary, that's their BONUS.
