Presuming the Police have not even said whether they are treating the death as suspicious or not, I'd like to know why the Echo feels it appropriate to 'sensationalise' someones death in this way before even the most basic of facts are known?

It would have been strange if it had been 4.05pm in the morning.

Totally agree. As the body was only found in the last three hours (assuming the times are correct), I question how responsible the Echo has been.

What if relatives have not yet been contacted? What a horrible way to find out if the photo of the property is recognised should that be the case.

I am finding the Echo is increasingly sensationalist in the way it reports some stories and, after Leveson, I would have thought the editorial team should not be behaving like this.

Although the Google street view picture in the DE indicates the address is 6, North Street, Pennington, the actual address where the investigation is taking place is White Cottage, 57, North Street. The DE must be creating a highly embarrassing situation for the occupants of No. 6 and their near family and friends by publishing this unnecessary detail at the present time with no thought of sensitivity. I've only disclosed this reluctantly to avoid further alarm and distress for even more people being attached inadvertantly to this very sad event.

I would suggest that the time coincides with her daughter coming home from school and her only close relative is unlikely to read the Echo as he lives in The Phillipines

With the title ' Body discovered ' I assumed they had found a ladys body.
But she passed away while paramedics were at the scene? Does this class under the right wording of the headline?
Sounds as though the Echo are making something alot worse than it is, especiallly if friends or family were to read it.
Not to mention as others say that it is completely wrong to even publish something like this as a live event before you even know the full story.

The Headline on the main web page does read "Live Woman's Body Discovered".

They HAD found a lady's body - why do people always assume a "body" refers to a dead one - I have a body and mine isn't dead....yet!

I had known the deceased for 37 years. We used to live together in Southampton. It was fortunate I knew the Southampton Evening Echo used to be published daily so putting that into a search engine quickly brought up this story.I'm very grateful The Echo has covered the story.Every minute detail is important to me.I live 180 miles away so I can only learn the circumstances surrounding the death of my friend by reading it online as published by local newspapers.Hopefully the results of the Post Mortem & Inquest will follow shortly.Looking at the house photos was nice because its changed in appearance a lot and the green algae on the walls suggests Alexa did not have a practical man (like me) in her life who kept the walls fresh with masonry paint
