A NEW £118,000 extension to Bursledon village hall is being opened tonight.
The extension includes a projection and lighting control room for film shows and live performances and a gallery named after John Sneezum, who supported the hall over many years. Funding was supplied by several organisations, including the Veolia Environmental Trust, Hampshire County Council and the Garfield Weston Foundation.
Another “significant” donation came from WI member Audrey Waite. She and her husband held a party in the hall last May to celebrate their golden wedding. She heard about the extension project and immediately wrote out a cheque.
The Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Rupert Kyrle will perform the opening ceremony at 8pm.
