Driver broke teenager's jaw after he threw snowball at his car
A furious Southampton driver broke a teenger’s jaw after accusing him of throwing a snowball at his car.
The 16-year-old is expected to have to undergo an operation to fit a metal plate in his jaw after he was assaulted by man while he was taking part in a snowball fight with friends.
He was in woods known as Bunny Hill close to Willow Tree Walk and South East Road when the group of five were approached by two men from the road.
They accused them of throwing a snowball at their car smashing a window.
The group fled but as the victim went past the men one of the men grabbed his coat.
He was then punched in the face and kicked once in the same place after he fell to the ground leaving him with a broken jaw and losing a tooth.
The men then got distracted and the victim ran from the pair who assaulted him at 6.35pm on January 21.
One of the men is black, five foot eight inches tall, stocky build, with short shaved with The other is white, six foot and of skinny build with short fair hair and wearing a blue jacket.
Officers appealed for witnesses.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Esra Phillipson-Masters at Bitterne CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

I hope this guy gets compensation for his broken jaw - then he can pay for the damage to the car window.

I don't condone breaking his jaw and didn't say that anything of the sort. I am just fed up with lefties sticking up for toe-rags that cause damage and then make out they were the victims.

Typical loutish car driver behaviour. As an assault he should be locked up. There is no possible excuse for violence certainly not over damage to an inanimate object.

Some interesting comments and fair comments, but to the absolute morons that said either they would have done the same or that this nipper deserved it, please take a step back and imagine your 16 year old son, brother, nephew, godson, friend, had been punched once in the face hard enough to drop him to the ground, and for a coward to them kick that bleeding scared young boy in the head causing a broken jaw and fractured temple, which then meant that this child, and lets not forget, it's a child, to have to pick himself up and stumble past these people to walk himself home dripping in blood. You are an absolute disgrace and should feel utterly ashamed. I am not going to enter into any debate about this, that's my opinion in which I hope is shared with anyone out there with half a heart or a shred of decency. I'm sorry, any man that can a) punch a kid and b) kick a kid or man in the head once he's on the ground is shameful !

We can all say what if this happened and what if that happened, plain facts are that tis is what actually did happen. Boy should not have thrown the snowball, really moronic thing to do and I'm sure he'll learn from it ( well hope so ) but if you take the actions of the driver and his assailant who I understand were no doubt angry to court if it goes that far, UK law and a judge will look at this one only one way, unreasonable force given the circumstances, simple as that, a disproportionate act which has resulted in a broken jaw. A window can be replaced, to kick some one in the face when they are down is a disgrace, 1000 times worse than a snowball to a window!

You are looking at it very naively 'poor 16 year old child' :D
16 year old kids nowadays are not 16 year old kids from wartime picking up shrapnel & baking with Mother anymore.
Most 16 year old boys are sitting on the street corner drinking Tyskie with their aggressive dogs & ugly girlfriends!

You get the Police involved, end of story. The Police can decide if its worth their time, they would most likely help sort out contact with the parents for damages too (and this happened a couple of years back when a local kid rode his bmx into my Uncle's car, the Police were very helpful)

As to the argument that they are "kids" if they are over 16 means they are old enough to reproduce by law. If your are man enough to break peoples property you are man enough to face consequences whatever they might be.
The British culture is shocking in some cases and really does mean more and more young people think they can literally get away with murder because "they are only kids". I knew **** well right from wrong as far back as I remember. Trust me when I say that there is nothing innocent about today’s 15-16 year old.
If that was me, my old man would have said I deserved it and shouldn’t have been hanging out with Yobs breaking people’s things and expecting nothing to come of it. Probably would have hit me one as well.
