nice to know there are enough well off people to fund a day trip to southampton, a lot of people are cutting back and can't afford leisure trips like this, they are have to save their petrol spend for essential travel. nice to see those with large disposable income and wealth to show off have a little parade.

Will the council provide tea & biscuits for their union friends?

It is nice to know that there are people who are prepared to get off their rear ends and take part in a peaceful protest when they do not agree with something instead of just whinging about it on sites like this.

I am certain that their protesters will not riot like those who protested against the ban on hunting with dogs.

The jobs they want to protect are their own and those of the thick and bone idle overpaid useless council " workers" and the rest of the public sector parasites who prey on the people who have real jobs.
Before you start ,I have 3 cousins who work for the council and they wouldn't last an hour in the private sector because they take pride in making idleness a career.

And there was me planning to have a relaxed afternoon promenading the wife round the shops. She will get agitated, I will get blamed, and that’s next week ruined. Can't they meet in a field?

Austerity don't work it creates higher unemployment, lower wages which kills the economy. People don't have the money so they will not spend like they use to, which as a knock on effect of more people losing there jobs so more cuts are needed.

They did not form in 1974 to help you out it started in a cafe in france back in 1912 (1914 saw the Chairman murdered), but its formation had started way before then, its Committee Workers Internationali.

Less than 10,000 closer to the real truth than you think, like I said at the time there is SP in those countrys who members are Romanias, Hungians, Bulgarians, and they would be the ones to ask how many are or have left there countries, they are not leaving they are fighting there governments to stop cuts and selling of the state sector to private hands, they have the same problem as us.

I think 2 years isn't long enough to judge. I can't say that the Government are right or wrong when it comes to all these cuts as it will take a few years to get things sorted properly.

We have two Aircraft carriers we didn't need as the one we had still had life in her but we've now had to decommission her.
by buying those aircraft carriers we've had to cut jobs in all the services yet we have no planes for them was that good economic sense by Labour?
I personally wish the Government would take the bull by the Horns & hit the welfare system & stop people living the good life on the dole.
Stop people claiming for disabilities when there's nothing for them or people refusing to work as they can get more on the dole?
But Labour are saying they might do it but they said that before but never did it & the Liberals are stopping this Government from sorting it out properly.
Cut the welfare bill & the cuts in services would be a lot smaller than they are but I guess that would be the wrong way to go just hammer those who work & raise Taxes would be your way wouldn't it?

by buying those aircraft carriers we've had to cut jobs in all the services yet we have no planes for them was that good economic sense by Labour?
I personally wish the Government would take the bull by the Horns & hit the welfare system & stop people living the good life on the dole.
Stop people claiming for disabilities when there's nothing for them or people refusing to work as they can get more on the dole?
But Labour are saying they might do it but they said that before but never did it & the Liberals are stopping this Government from sorting it out properly.
Cut the welfare bill & the cuts in services would be a lot smaller than they are but I guess that would be the wrong way to go just hammer those who work & raise Taxes would be your way wouldn't it?

We seriously have to stop the breeding programme that so many unemployed think is acceptable.

To many people can get a new flat & the Government pick up the tab for it plus give them money to live.
Going to work means they have to get up early & if they don't warrant working credits have to look for cheaper accommodation .
So even when farmers were crying out for workers our young who were offered the jobs said no thank you how can that be right?

Here's an idea why not use places like Blighmont barracks to give these people a bed & a roof over their heads or they can get to work( the Polish find jobs so why can't they?) & buy or rent a home.
I can't believe what some say about the Polish taking all the jobs so we send them back to Poland will this see the Dole queue halved I doubt it as many of these jobs are there for the Poles because are lot don't want to work there.
Look Ironlady my father was in nick & we lived until he came out on the Social & we never lived a live of luxury .we had no choice but many on the dole now do but we have changed it use to be an insult to most people to be on the dole but now many find it an insult going to work?

Austerity don't work it creates higher unemployment, lower wages which kills the economy. People don't have the money so they will not spend like they use to, which as a knock on effect of more people losing there jobs so more cuts are needed.

Saw Nick Clegg on telly this morning.
he said the cuts in the first year which were severe were what was implemented by the out going Labour Government.
He said because of the note left by Labour they couldn't stop them & had to find out exactly how bad it was.
If the4y hadn't been implemented then they the4 coalition would have made the cuts elsewhere & started infrastructure building to create jobs so he said he was not talking about what the Tories had done but what Labour had done.
