Drug charge man spared jail Drug charge man spared jail

A Waterside man, who turned to heavy drug use after the death of his father, was spared an immediate prison sentence.

Charles Fulford, 27, was arrested after police searched his bedroom and found £380 of skunk cannabis.

An examination of a mobile phone revealed calls relating to the supply of drugs, said prosecutor Gavin Sumpter.

Fulford, of Round Close, Dibden, admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply and received a 12-month suspended sentence coupled with 18 months’ supervision and a four-month night curfew.

Southampton Crown Court heard Fulflood had started using cannabis heavily after the death of his father and after running up debt.
