SHE is already Hampshire’s catwalk queen.

Grace Levy, 23, represented the county at a prestigious beauty pageant, after wowing judges to win the Miss Hampshire crown last year. And now Grace is set to taste the glitz and glamour of the Miss England final for the second year running, after winning a regional heat in London.

The psychology graduate has become one of the first budding models to make it through to the June showpiece in Torquay, after taking home the Miss Greater London crown.

Titchfield-born Grace’s latest success comes after she moved to the capital city in the autumn to become a teaching assistant at a school for boys with emotional and behavioural disorders.

She hopes to return to her home county in October, to start a teaching qualification at the University of Southampton.

Grace told the Daily Echo: “Obviously Hampshire is my home county so that will always be dear to my heart, but the London competition was a lot bigger and the standard of girls was a lot higher, so I didn’t think I would win. “I’m absolutely over the moon and it will be great to go to Miss England again.

“I haven’t done a lot of modelling for a while so it was lovely to win.

“I’m going to stick to the teaching for now but I want to make the most of the title and the opportunity to get back into modelling.”

Budding young models from across the county can now enter the running for this year’s Miss Hampshire and Isle of Wight contest.

Miss England organisers are now accepting entrants for the 2013 final, which will be held at the Village Hotel, in Farnborough, on Friday, March 8.

The winner of that heat will join Grace in the Miss England final, in Torquay, on June 15 and 16, to compete for the national crown and a place at Miss World 2013.

I remember this lass winning Miss Hampshire last year and I made a note to follow her Miss England quest. She placed in the final15 and did Hampshire proud. Come on Grace, you can do it this year... you are naturally beautiful and intelligent and a Samaritan too if I recall? Perfect Miss England material!! Wishing you the very best of luck this year!!

Wow shes a stunning creature. I've just googled Grace and she's an interesting young lady indeed! We should all lend our support to such a talented young lady... She would serve the title well I believe. Good luck to her this time around

It's such a shame a nice young lady would wish to take part in a talent contest. I feel she is better than that, why does she feel the need to go so public?

Is she insecure and wants people to like her? Maybe she wants the fame?

I wish her well, for the right reasons.

People criticise the beauty pageant scene, but, actually, it has retained its wholesome image from the sixties when it really was only about beauty. Now, of course, there's a lot more to becoming a beauty queen. There is charity work, talent, fitness, poise, social skills and anything else you can add to that list. I think it's not about 'fame' as such, more of a 'platform' to achieve all of the above and more... all, of course, promoting your local city and homeland!
