Post office to be refurbished
THE Kendal Avenue Post Office, in Redbridge, Southampton, is to close temporarily so it can be transformed into a new ‘main’ style open-plan branch with significantly longer opening hours.
It will shut for refurbishment on Tuesday, 26 February at 5.30pm with the new-look branch opening on Monday, March 18, at 9pm.
During this period of refurbishment the nearest Post Offices are Totton Post Office, 41 Rumbridge Street and Marchwood Post Office, Village Centre, Marchwood.

A fair walk for comrade southy to get his benefits then. Still, I'm sure that he won't mind as it's for the benefit of the local community. Anyone seen him lately? It's not the same without him. In all honesty I hope you are okay Peter.
The real reason why this post office is closing is because the shop that it is base in as been sold to new owners, Costcutters I been told, and the whole shop will be closed for refurbishment, the old owners are running down stock now and is only the daily sales and resupply that are being supplied like bread milk newspapers ect.
The Echo should really check the closes of PO, theres 1 in Lordshill, Coxford, 2 in Shirley, Regents park road (which is the closes)
