A crash is causing traffic chaos on one of Hampshire’s busiest roads.

Police closed one lane of the A31 at Poulner Hill near Ringwood after the three-car smash, shortly before 8am.

Ambulance staff were called to the scene, but a police spokeswoman said no-one had been seriously hurt.

The vehicles were cleared to the hard shoulder shortly after 9am, but there is still heavy congestion on the dual carriageway, which is the main route across the New Forest.

Delays of more than half an hour are reportedly being experienced by motorists, with tailbacks stretching as far as St Leonards in Dorset.
