Man denies throwing smoke grenade
A MAN has denied throwing a smoke grenade onto the pitch during Saints’ FA Cup defeat to Chelsea in January.
Cian Murphy, 22, from Leatherhead, Surrey, appeared before magistrates in Southampton to plead not guilty to the charge. He also denied a second charge of possessing a firework at a designated sporting event.
He was released on bail to return to Southampton Magistrates’ Court in April.
